I'll continue bringing my dogs here. That's the best testimonial I can give.
As far as treatment, I've been satisfied with the way my dogs have been served. I prefer Dr Gaines, but that isn't to say that I think Dr. Pope isn't qualified. It's just a personal thing.
The two vets split the week up (this may not be exact): Pope is there 4 days during the week, Dr. Gaines is there Sat-Tues. They aren't busy enough to support two vets on staff at all times. Before moving to Atlanta, I took my dogs to a clinic that typically had 4 vets on duty on any given day. If you want to see Dr. Gaines, you have to see her Sat-Tues. That's fine until you have an emergency or want a procedure done on a certain day. Anyway, it is what it is.
First Vet to figure out what was wrong with my cat and she did it in like 5 minutes. I had already taken the sick cat to two other vets.
There are two primary vets here: A man (the Owner), Dr. Pope, and a woman, Dr. Gaines.
The clinic is a part of the VCA chain. To learn the good, bad, and the ugly of that arrangement, you can do additional research.
The doctor and staff were nice, and I felt my dog was well cared for. Thus the 3 stars. However, they don't carry the prescribed oral flea treatment. The technician said they stopped carrying it because most people want to buy it online. I find that odd. Then even though I expressed interest in having my pet spayed, the technician tried using scare tactics to get me to do it. She said every time my dog goes into heat increases her risk for uterine cancer. Really? I guess all wild dogs and breeders are doomed? I'll find another vet.
They are good to me and my pets. Two dogs and a cat. My digs l dogs actually walk I without cowering
They will find a way to overcharge you. On my dog's first stay there they said that they gave him a fecal test - complete with a clean bill of health. I got him home and he had large noticeable worms in his stool. They hadn't done any fecal testing because it was obvious with the naked eye that he had massive white worms. So they charged for it but didn't do the work. The next stay - another battery of shots (as you'd expect for his yearly). But just five days later, when he had to stay again, they contrived a way to charge for two baths and a flu shot! A four day stay - $217! There are much better places in town that are more professional, diligent, and cost effective. This place happened to be convenient for me but I'll drive the extra couple miles in order for my dog to get appropriate care.
